Ben is a founder of Tenmile Companies and the managing partner. His desire to create long lasting built environments that enhance communities lead him to the field of architecture.  Before branching into development, Ben owned and ran a successful architecture firm for 17 years.  His experience as a registered architect, working with designers, contractors, and financiers positioned him well to evolve his business into a model beyond what architects traditionally follow.  Having designed and managed the construction of hundreds of facilities in the areas of education, finance, retail, industrial, and residential gave him the background to take the next step, that of creating and owning his own projects.  Ben stays involved in his community by serving on boards for historic preservation, banking, and other local philanthropies.  He completed his education at Southwest Missouri State in 1992 and Kansas State in 1997.  During his spare time, he stays active with his wife of 26 years and three sons and enjoys playing golf and spending time at his well-hidden cabin in the Ozarks.  Ben feels that surrounding himself with a great team of professionals is the most important route to a successful venture.
